Online stopwatch
A stopwatch that starts with one click or the Space bar and counts to the hundredth of a second. Press Lap to record splits: each lap shows its own time and the running total, and the fastest and slowest laps are marked.
Fullscreen mode (F) shows only the time, large enough to read across a room, a gym or a classroom. The screen stays awake while the stopwatch runs.
Time is measured from the clock, not by counting ticks, so it stays exact in a background tab. Reload the page and the stopwatch carries on, laps included. Copy the laps to paste them into a spreadsheet.
Questions
How accurate is this stopwatch?
It measures elapsed time from your device's clock and shows hundredths of a second. It doesn't drift, even after hours or in a background tab. Your reaction time when pressing the button matters more than the software, so use certified equipment for official race timing.
What's the difference between lap time and total time?
Lap time is how long that one lap took. Total time, also called split time, is what the stopwatch showed when you pressed Lap.
Does it keep running if I close the tab?
Yes. Reopen the page in the same browser and the stopwatch picks up where it was, laps included. It counts from the moment you started, so no time is lost.
Can I export my laps?
Press Copy laps to copy them as a table, then paste into Excel, Google Sheets or a note.
Is it free?
Yes. There's no sign-up, no ads and nothing to install. The stopwatch runs entirely in your browser.
